Back Up App Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Turn on Back up my data to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically upon the next sign in with the backup account
Back Up Contacts Using a Samsung or Google Account:
- Open the contacts app
- Launch Contacts
- Tap More > Settings
- To save the contacts from your phone to your Google or Samsung account, tap move device contacts to
- Go back to Settings and tap Accounts
- Select an account and tap More > Sync now
NOTE: Contacts backed up using the steps above will be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the Samsung or Google backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Head down to Samsung Smart Switch?
- Click Samsung Smart Switch for PC and install the app on your computer
- Once done, connect the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime to your computer via USB
- At the prompt, enable Media device (MTP) / File transfer (MTP), otherwise enable the option from the Notification area
- Open Smart Switch on the computer and launch the File Explorer
- Use the File Explorer to locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the desired files and paste them in your backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Follow the first 6 steps above
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Use the Explorer to locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Media folder or the folder they originate from
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac
- Install Kies on the Mac and then connect the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime to the computer via USB
- When prompted, enable Media device (MTP) / File transfer (MTP), otherwise enable this option from the notification area
- On the Mac, launch Kies and go to the Back up / restore tab
- Click the Backup tab and check the boxes associated with Photo, Music, or other media file types you want to back up
- Click Backup and after the process is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the trash can
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Follow the first 5 steps above
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Access the Back up / restore tab and click Restore
- Check the tick boxes associated with Photos, Music, and other types of files you want to restore
- Click Restore and, if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
- When done, eject the phone by dragging and dropping its virtual drive from the desktop and into the trash can
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

My Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime phn has a blank and broken screen however it still turns on. I can hear it. I want to transfer txt msgs SMS to my Mac. How do I do that without losing data?
