Turn On Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer on the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Tap the Power saving mode switch to ON
- Tap Start power saving and select a battery percentage for the Power Saving mode to enable automatically
Turn On Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings and scroll to System
- Tap Battery
- Turn on Ultra power saving mode
- Tap Agree
- To add apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap +
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By enabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associate with the connectivity features you wish to disable
- Make sure the switches are set to OFF
Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap More connection settings
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select GSM only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Display
- Tap Automatic brightness and disable the option if necessary
- Drag the brightness slider to the left
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Disable Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap Data usage > More
- Tap Restrict background data > OK to confirm
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications on your phone can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that some apps perform regular background processes. As such, you might be able to improve battery life by removing or disabling unused third party apps.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Under Device, tap Applications
- Tap Application manager and swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app
- Tap Turn off / Disable to turn off the app
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall two times
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings on your phone to sync less data / less often, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts
- Select an account type and tap the desired account
- Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
- To apply the changes, tap Menu > Sync now
