Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System”
  4. Tap “Battery”
  5. Tap the “Power saving mode” switch to enable the option
  6. Select a battery percentage to enable Power saving mode automatically

Turn On Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the “Apps” drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System”
  4. Tap “Battery”
  5. Tap the “Ultra power saving mode” switch to enable the option
  6. Tap “Agree”
  7. Once the mode is turned on, tap “+” if you want to add more apps on the ultra power saving mode home screen

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. If necessary, turn off “Automatic brightness”
  4. Tap “Screen timeout”
  5. Select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Turn Off Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to disable

Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can improve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap “More connection settings”
  5. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  6. Select “GSM only”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap “Data usage” > “More”
  4. Tap “Restrict background data”
  5. Press “OK” to confirm

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts / apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account type
  4. Select an account
  5. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
  6. Tap “Menu” when ready, and tap “Sync now”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect battery performance even when unused, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device”
  4. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”
  5. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  6. Tap “Turn off” / “Disable”
  7. Alternatively, to remove the app, tap “Uninstall” two times
