Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings and scroll to System
- Tap Battery and then tap the Power saving mode switch to ON
- Select a battery percentage at which the mode should turn on automatically
Turn On Power Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Enable Ultra power saving mode and tap Agree
- In addition, you can tap + to add more applications to the Ultra power saving mode home screen
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By disabling Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, and GPS when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap the switches associated with the connectivity features you want to disable
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket and battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Tap More connection settings under Connections
- Go to Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode and select GSM Only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Display
- If necessary, turn off automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- To lower timeout duration tap Screen timeout and select a lower value
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes even when they are not actively in use. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Turn off or Disable, or tap Uninstall two times to remove the app from the phone
Disable Background Data:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap Data usage
- Tap more
- Tap Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By decreasing sync for your apps / accounts, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Tap Accounts under Personal
- Tap the desired account type and select an account
- Clear or check the boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
- Tap Menu > Sync now to confirm
