Reset Network Settings:
NOTE: Resetting network settings will delete all connection data for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks etc. Additionally, background data sync, network selection mode, and data restrictive settings will be set to default.
- Open Settings
- Go to General Management
- Tap Reset > Reset network settings
- Tap Reset settings and if necessary, enter your PIN
- Tap Reset settings to confirm
Soft Reset via Hardware Buttons:
NOTE: A soft reset is designed to simulate battery removal, and the function can be useful if your phone is frozen, unresponsive etc. However this method wont affect any personal data, settings etc.
- Press and hold power and Volume down at the same time
- Keep the buttons pressed for up to 45 seconds until the device reboots
Hard Reset
NOTE: Unlike soft resetting, hard resetting will delete all user data on the phones internal memory and will return all settings to factory values. Data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected by the hard reset. The SD card can be optionally formatted along with the phone being reset.
Hard Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to and tap Cloud and accounts
- Tap Backup and restore
- Optionally, enable or disable Back up my data and Restore
- Tap Back to return to Settings
- Go to General Management and tap Reset
- Tap Factory data reset > Reset device
- If necessary, enter your PIN / password to proceed
- Tap Continue > Delete all to confirm
Hard Reset via Android Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from hard resetting via Settings as described above, alternatively you can try resetting the device via Android Recovery, which can be accessed by performing a button combination.
- First ensure the phone is turned off
- Next, press and hold Home and Volume Up, and then press and hold Power too
- At the Android logo, release all buttons and wait for the Android System Recovery menu to appear
- Navigate the Recovery menu by pressing the volume buttons, and highlight Wipe data / factory reset
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Press Volume down repeatedly to highlight yes delete all user data
- Press Power to confirm
- After the process is done, highlight Reboot system now
- Press Power again to confirm and reboot your phone
