Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to System
- Tap Battery and enable Battery saving mode
- Tap Start power saving
- Select the battery percentage at which the mode turns ON automatically
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to System
- Tap Battery and enable Ultra power saving mode
- Tap Agree
- If you wish to add more apps to the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap +
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to turn Off
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery life and you dont have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap More connection settings
- Tap Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode and enable GSM only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Display
- Optionally you can disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
- Under Display, tap Screen timeout and select a lower value like 15 seconds
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing your accounts sync options to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts and select an account type
- Tap the desired account to edit the sync options and reduce sync
- When ready, tap Menu > Sync now
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Third party apps can perform regular background processes, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Applications
- Access Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app
- Tap Turn off / Disable to disable the app
- Tap Uninstall two times to remove the app
Restrict Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap Data usage > More
- Select Restrict background data > OK to confirm
