Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC
  4. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “notifications” folder(s)
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Head down to Samsung Kies
  3. Click “Download for Mac” and install Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Samsung phone to your Mac via USB
  5. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  6. Open Kies on the Mac and click the “Folder” icon next to “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  7. Open the File Finder on the Mac and navigate to the desired audio files
  8. Drag the files and drop them inside Kies to start the transfer
  9. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
  10. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & Notifications”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sounds”
  4. Tap “Add ringtone” and select “Sound picker”
  5. Choose “Just once” or “Always”
  6. Select the audio files you want to add to the list of ringtones
  7. Tap “Done”

Change the Phone’s General Ringtone:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & Notifications”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtone & sound”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “Back” to confirm

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones for contacts stored on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
  3. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  4. Press “OK” > “Save”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Sounds & Notifications” under “Device”
  3. Tap “Ringtones & sounds”
  4. Select the desired notification type and a notification sound
  5. Tap “Back” to confirm
