Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Enable Ultra power saving mode and tap Agree
- To add more applications on the Ultra power saving mode screen, tap +
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Display
- Optionally, turn Automatic brightness OFF
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease brightness
- For timeout options, tap Screen timeout under Display
- Select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Options:
NOTE: By turning OFF Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches next to the connectivity options you want to disable
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap More connection settings
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Third party applications can perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Go to Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Disable/Turn off to disable the app
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing your accounts sync settings to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts
- Select an account type and tap the desired account
- Edit the available sync options to reduce sync as desired
- When done, tap Menu > Sync now to confirm
Restrict Background Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap Data usage
- Tap More > Restrict background data
- Press OK to confirm
