Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  3. Enable “Ultra power saving mode” and tap “Agree”
  4. To add more applications on the Ultra power saving mode screen, tap “+”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Display”
  3. Optionally, turn “Automatic brightness” OFF
  4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease brightness
  5. For timeout options, tap “Screen timeout” under “Display”
  6. Select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: By turning OFF Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap the switches next to the connectivity options you want to disable

Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “More connection settings”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  4. Enable “GSM only”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Third party applications can perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  3. Go to “Application manager”
  4. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable”/”Turn off” to disable the app
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and tap the desired account
  4. Edit the available sync options to reduce sync as desired
  5. When done, tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to confirm

Restrict Background Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap “Data usage”
  4. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
  5. Press “OK” to confirm
