Back Up App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to and tap Cloud and accounts
- Tap Backup & restore
- Enable Back up my data to back up Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and settings to your Google account
- Enable Automatic restore to allow data to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account
Back Up Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Tap Cloud and accounts
- Go to Accounts
- Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
- Tap Menu > Sync now
Back Up Contacts to SD Card:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu
- Access Settings
- If necessary, tap Contacts to display > All contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts > Export to SD Card
- Press OK to confirm
Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:
- Access the Samsung folder
- Open My Files and tap Internal storage
- Tap Menu > Share
- Select the content you want to back up and tap Share
- Select the location you want to use for the backup
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the desired media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Samsung Kies
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and install Kies on the computer
- Connect the Samsung device to the Mac via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device on the phone, at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac and go to Back up / Restore
- Access the Backup tab
- Tick the check boxes associated with Music, Photos and other media file types you want to back up
- Click Backup to begin the process
- Once the backup is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the phones virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the Trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
