Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu”
  3. Go to “Settings”
  4. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
  5. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
  6. Tap “Import from SD card”
  7. Press “OK” to confirm

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Launch “My Files”
  2. Tap “SD Card” > “Menu”
  3. Tap “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Move”
  5. Select “Internal storage” and tap “Move here” or tap the folder name to restore the media files to a different location

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / ‘Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and copy the media file backups on the computer
  5. Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and Mac
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / restore”
  4. Go to the “Restore” tab
  5. Tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other media file types you want to restore
  6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  7. After the process is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the “trash can” to eject it
  8. You can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
