Restore Contacts from SD Card:

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. If necessary, access “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
  4. Tap “Import/Export contacts”
  5. Select to “Import from SD card”
  6. If needed, select the backup file you want to restore
  7. Tap “OK” to confirm

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Open “My Files”
  2. Select “SD Card” and tap “Menu”
  3. Tap “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
  5. Tap “Move here” or alternatively, tap “Create folder” and select a different location

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC storage
  4. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt of from the Notification area
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac
  4. Click the “Back up / restore” tab in Kies and then access the “Restore” tab
  5. Tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other file types you want to restore
  6. Click “Restore” to confirm and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  7. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive and drop it over the “trash can” to eject it
  8. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
