Back Up App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Access Cloud and account
- Tap Backup & Restore
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up Contacts:
- Launch Contacts
- Access Cloud and account
- Go to Accounts
- Select the desired account for the backup and make sure Contacts is checked
- When ready, tap menu > Sync Now
Back Up Contacts to SD Storage:
- Launch Contacts
- Tap Menu > Settings
- Switch to All contacts if necessary
- Tap Import/Export > Export to SD
- Tap OK to confirm
Back Up Media Files to Phone Storage:
- Launch My Files
- Access Internal storage
- Tap menu > Share and select the desired contacts
- Tap Share again and select a backup location
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification shade
- Go to the phone storage and transfer the media files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/kies/
- Click Download for Mac and install the app on the computer
- Connect the Android device to the Mac via USB
- If necessary, enable File Transfer / Media device on the phone, either from the Notification area or at the prompt
- Open Kies on the Mac and go to Back up / Restore
- Access Backup and check the tick boxes associated with the media file types you want to back up
- Click Backup to begin the process
- Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the trash can
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB port
