NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up contacts, media files, and app data on the phone.

Restore Contacts from SD Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Access “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
  4. Tap “Import/Export contacts” > “Import from SD card”
  5. Tap “OK”

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Launch “My Files”
  2. Access “SD Card”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Edit”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
  6. Tap “Move here” or “Create folder”
  7. Select a folder name and tap “Move here”

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the PC
  4. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folders or the directory of origin
  5. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files form a Mac:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and Mac
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac
  4. In Kies, click the “Back up / Restore” tab
  5. Access “Restore”
  6. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  7. Click “Restore” and follow the prompts
  8. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can
  9. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
