How-to: Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve: Restore Contacts and Media Files

NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up media files, app data, and contacts on the phone.

Restore Contacts from SD Storage:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
3. Access “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
4. Tap “Import/Export contacts” > “Import from SD card”
5. Tap “OK”

Restore Media Files from SD:

1. Launch "My Files"
2. Access "SD Card"
3. Tap "Menu" > "Edit"
4. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
5. Tap "Menu" > "Move" > "Internal storage"
6. Tap "Move here" or "Create folder"
7. Select the desired folder and tap "move here"

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
3. Open the File Explorer on the PC
4. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably the folders of origin
5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

1. Connect the Android device to the Mac via USB
2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification shade
3. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Restore / Back up” tab
4. Access “Restore” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
5. Click “Restore” and follow the prompts
6. After the process completes, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the trash can
7. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
