to apollo, mmf files is commonly adopted format when we mention polyphonic ringtones for Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Siemens. does not stand for anything but file extension is .mmf. yamaha calls it smaf

to alexinbk, A few makers of chipsets for mmf such as Yamaha and Rohm. the yamaha mmf do NOT work on Rohm.

To any interested E715 users, try downlaoding a midi to ur phone. think it can handle midi as well. as far as i tested v200 and s300 did

It's not necessary for the mmf to be lesser than 20kb. I have mmf's on my phone(C100) over 45kb.
What you lookin' here for ehhh?

I have the E700 plays MMF files without a problem also depends on the actual midi file your converting found that low quality midi's make a terrible noise on your phone once converted

Try converting a starwars intro, you'll get a shrill noise in the bg. if you try converting at full volume. No idea why, but only with that particular one and nothing else.

Have you guys tried Xingtone (www.xingtone.com) - it's a simple program that allows you to create your own real music/voice ringtones using mp3/wav files (compatible w/ the e715).

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about the program.
