Upgrade software on X426

I have a x426 phone that apparently needs some sort of sw upgrade to correct the background noise, etc (something about the mic is sensative). I was told that i can download the software needed and can do this myself. Has anyone done this? If you have please let me know what steps are necessary. If I can avoid having to ship my phone out just to have them do this when I can do it myself that would be great.

Also, have any of you had this upg done and does it really eliminate the background noise ?

You need to upgrade from firmware rev 1.5 to 1.6 It does in fact solve this mic problem. You either need a cable and a copy of the firmware (I can give it to you) or you need to take your phone back to your provider and request an upgrade.
