I recently purchased a samsung E350. Now my phone plays mp3's but for some reason I'm having trouble setting the mp3's as ringtones.

Does anyone have the same phone or similar situation.

    Thanks

Some cell phones can reproduce mp3, but do not install mr3 as ringtone. So is conceived by manufacturer

Anyone figured out how to do it for these phones? I'm having problems as well.. I didn't think that I wouldn't be able to set mp3's as ringtones

I have a t809 and all you have to do is change the extension from .mp3 to .3gp before you move it to your phone. Do this by finding the file in your folder, then go to folder options in the tools menu and click the view tab scroll down and make sure the box marked hide extensions for known file types is UNCHECKED then apply and click ok. Then go to the file you want to change and right click select rename and delete the .mp3 and put .3gp in its place, after doing this correctly windows will prompt "if you change a file extension the file may become unusable" -{side note make sure the files that you are changing are copies of the original just in case you should always have a backup}- click ok. Now your file is ready for your phone. However, your phone has to be in USB mode and be a removable drive on your computer. Just drag and drop the .3gp file to your phone's music folder and it will be put on the trans flash card, then go to menu -- fun & apps -- file manager -- memory card -- music -- highlight the file you want to select as a ringer then choose options and select set as and then select ringtone or caller ringtone.. That’s how it is done on the t809 anyways hope this helps someone.

    Re: MP3 ringtone help

ok don't use the PC studio at all.
On Ur computer go to Ur where ever you keep your music
    1) copy the ones you want to a separate folder.
    2) change each ones file extension to 3gp. instead of mp3.
    3) plug Ur phone into your computer
    4) go to my computer and find the removable drive that it is
    5) open the music folder in that drive
    6) copy the newly changed music files directly to that folder.
Now you can go to Ur phone and look in file manager and save them as ring tones

    Re: MP3 ringtone help

I have the t809 with the same problem, what I did is used a free (and legal) online ringtone site (in my case phonezoo.com) and it sends them to your phone as the correct file type; my phone plays them with no trouble.
