I have a few questions about my Samsung A920.

    1. Is it possible to place a ringtone on the transmedia card and actually use it for your voice calls?

    2. What folder are the ringtones suppose to be copied onto the transmedia card?

    3. Finally, what file types can I use, (MP3, AAC, M4A)?

    TIA

MMF is the type of ringtones that samsung supports
    The folder should be "media"

    Re: A920 ringtone on transmedia

I converted my 30 second wav to mmf and copied to the media folder on the transmedia card and it did not work. The file did not appear.

    Any suggestions?

Hmm... I'm not sure, it should have. Try putting the MP3 file in and try that too... In our Ringtone forum, look for PSM play, that's your best bet

    Re: A920 ringtone on transmedia

Thank you for your help! Problem is still unresolved.

I should have mentioned that I already tried putting the MP3 in the Media folder on the transmedia card.

What do I need PSM Play for?

I'm just trying to get a ringtone that I created, to work from my transmedia card. Anyone, is this possible????

    Re: A920 ringtone on transmedia

The 920 will play mp3 and aac, not mmf.
Ringtones on the transflash will not work. You must use an uploader like rumkin.
Find the mp3 you want, cut it down to about 30 seconds in any audio editor.
If you want aac, which is a smaller format, you can convert from just about any audio source type to aac in Super video converter (yes it does audio too).

PSM play converts WAV to MMF. ALL newer Samsungs play MMF. AAC files, I haven't tried on a Sammy...

Who is your carrier? I'm at Bell Mobility and there isn't even an option to search the media card for ringtones.

my suggestion would be to go to funformobile.com and upload a ringtone, once you enter in your info (carrier, phone number) a text will be sent to your phone, you can follow the link and the ringtone will then be downloaded onto your phone, the only thing you'll be charged for is for using the internet

    Re: A920 ringtone on transmedia

I gave up. I don't have a data plan, and have all internet services block on my family plan.

Is there a way to put a ringtone on to an A920 without using one of those websites?
