Yesterday I got this Samsung, the little tiny bar phone. Got it in plum looks black most of the time. So far I love the phone, much much better than the sgh-x495 I had before. But I am having troubles with picture messaging. About an hour after I got the phone I took a video and sent it to my E-Mail adress, it showed up without a problem less than 5 min later. Later last night I was taking pictures of my new radar detector and trying to send them to my e-mail, and nothing happened. I got an error message on one of the many pics I was sending telling me service could not procede or something like that. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with T-Mobile last night and nothing was resolved, they were very helpful and nice but we could not figure out the problem. Now there is an envelope on my phone up near the clock and such, that I dont know what it is, it is an envelope with a little red bar on the left and what looks like a blue document or a peice of paper. T-Mobile couldnt tell me what it was, and it wasnt in my manual. I have checked my inbox and both of my out boxes(sent and out) and cant find this symbol anywhere else. Can someone tell me why I cant send picture messages but video is fine, and what this icon is. If I cant send picture messages then what is the point of having a camera phone?

Over all I like this phone, the first few times I called someone on it it just felt wrong on my ear, but now it is more comftorble than any other phone I have ever used. The ear peice that comes with the phone is awesome, it sounds great and other people can hear me just fine. I love how thin this phone is, its not jabbing me in the leg like the samsung flip was doing. I am a little concerned with it breaking because it is so thin, they guy that sold it to me said it is very tough but then again he was a sales man they tend to bend the truth a little bit. The camera takes good pictures for a VGA(I think I would love to actually see them on my computer), but the video recorder is a little too choppy for my tastes. I like the number of things you can change to make this phone yours, unlike the samsung flip I had before(where there were 2 options for your numbers, rainbow or black and the only background worth while was the calandar which was very useful). The power port plug in is in a very stupid place I think, its on the side behind a little slide door. When charging and talking at the same time it gets in the way a bit to much, I think all the charge ports should be on the bottom of every phone, it just makes to much sense down there I guess. I would like to get rid of the T-Mobile thing on the main screen, but I dont think that is possible. I really like the date/time bar at the top although I am going to miss the calandar of the x495. When you take a picture at the highest resolution, what you see is less than what you get, I took a picture of something I wanted to use as my wallpaper lined it up perfect set it as the wallpaper and I got stuff from the sides I didnt see when taking the picture, which is annoying but fixable, just zoom and take again. I would have liked more of a PDA thing, a place to jot notes, and such but I can always just put it in the calandar. I dont know if it is worth the $130 I paid but I do have a 14 day return window, and if they dont get that whole picture messaging thing fixed you can bet I will be taking it back. Over all I would say that this phone is great, although I have had it less than 24 hours.

If any of you can answer my questions about the picture messaging please help out, with either the icon or the not being able to send pictures, any help would be great.

Did you discuss the MMS settings on your phone with the CSR? It's odd that you are not able to send pics, but able to send video, after all, they're both considered to be MMS messages. As for the icon, I have no idea.

    Re: samsung t509s

I got the icon figured out, it was a message that did not make it out in my sent box. I spent another couple of hours on the phone today with them trying to figure out all that stuff about my picture messaging. I told them about the video sending and not the pictures and they told me it was because T-Zones was down, yet I could access T-Zones from both of my T-Mobile phones. They ended up switching towers and another master reset, along with her sending something to my phone, then a power down and then it worked. They said they have never heard about something like that, and I should maybe switch phones for another t509s. I may do that tomorow after court.
