    I can browse the web, but can't send or receive text messages. Cingular network. Any idea of where and what configs to try.

    Try calling Cingular and asking about it, not sure what would prevent it.
    If you are using an unlocked phone some of the settings may be wrong.

    Go ahead and give a call to CS. They'll send you the web session and SMS configuration packets to your phone to get it working
