SAMSUNG M610 cannot read memory card

I just recieved the sph m610
I tried to create the media folder but recieved error message
RM04

the card is inserted properly
also when I connect the phone to computer get message insert card

can someone give me a hand here

I am running Vista Platrorm

Maybe your memory card is bad, or there's some junk on the pins of the card socket inside the phone.
