Does anyone know where I can get a driver for my new Samsung Rant? I am using Windows Vista.
The owner's manual says a driver is not needed on one page and tells me where to download it ( from Samsung) on another. The page they provide goes to the driver for another model phone. Figures.
I contacted Samsung and they say they have no driver and it should be supplied by Sprint.
Sprint says they don't have a driver and that I should contact Samsung.
Apparently they never talk to each other.

Re: Samsung Rant driver
Second question...
Does anyone know of a good (cheap) place to get ear buds/headphones that would fit a Samsung Rant?
Thanks.

Re: Samsung Rant driver
Can't help you as far as the driver goes, but as for the headphones all you need is an adapter and you can use any standard pair of headphones.
Just google "2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter"
I'd post a link to one, but:

Re: Samsung Rant driver
I disagree...but it's not important, and not on topic :O
I did some looking around and the Rant should be plug-n-play with vista. Have you tried just plugging it in?

Re: Samsung Rant driver
yo'. to connect the rant to a pc you have to go to the following on your samsung rant home>tools>mass storage>connect to PC. it took one or two tries for my phone to connect. connect usb cable then select 'connect to PC' - should work fine without needing drivers. this has probably already been posted but i'm too lazy to check. cheers.

Re: Samsung Rant driver
as for the headphones. You can find stereo bluetooth headphones on amazon for under 50 bucks, usually around 40. My suggestion, based on what I've heard from my friends would be the Motorola S9. they're black and red (though they make Hi def ones that are all black for about 100 bucks). Super light, comfortable, and good sound quality.

Re: Samsung Rant driver
freaking annoying... i can't get my rant to connect to my pc either. it would be nice if the website that the user guide tells you to go to to download the driver actually existed. alas, i shan't be adding my ringtones tonight...

Re: Samsung Rant driver
Plug and play my foot! I had the problem too until I realize the phone has to drive itself. Would be easier if they actually had a website with a driver, but there is a way to connect it using their method in the manual. the trick is to ignore what windows is trying to do (i did this on xp and eventually got it to work). ignore the add hardware wizard, just keep picking "connect to pc" on your phone until it finally gets to "connected: call disabled" or something like that. at that point it's actually mounted itself as a drive in ur my computer. u can tell the add hardware wizard to stop trying with this device, or just cancel it every time. really annoying way to connect a device but it works if u keep trying.

Re: Samsung Rant driver
You can find the USB Driver software at the following address:
hXXp://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/SW/200708/20070813082717640_Samsung_USB_Driver_Installer.exe
Cannot post link due to low post count, so just copy and paste and edit the 'hXXP' to 'http'.
Enjoy!
