Hey guys, I just ordered the Samsung Eternity (should be here by friday), but I have a couple questions first. What will I and won't I be able to do with it in terms of features? I have a regular service plan, no data plan or anything for internet, so does that also mean...

    1. I can't use the 3g service either? That'll charge me per kb?
    2. I can't use GPS?
    3. Tv?
    4. Anything else?

GPS is my main question, because I'd love to be able to use it.. Thanks for your help!

Spend the 20 bucks a month for unlimited data. You can surely use it..

Eat out 1 less day a week and you can gey what ever you need...

You probably know this already (since by this time you've had the phone for a while, lol), but most of the extra features cost, well, extra. Most features don't really matter, i.e. the special TV service (use youtube), or the GPS (it won't speak to you, but I use Google maps). The only special feature I pay for is the data plan for Internet access. Really, that's all it needs to be a really great phone. And the data plan is cheaper with this phone than with a true smart phone.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The keyboard isn't too bad on the phone, but sometimes I make a mistake that completely changes the meaning of the message and I hate having to fix it.

    The emoti-cons are fun though.

Has anybody used this phone for a while? How rugged is it - thinking about getting it for a thirteen year old relative. Is the Eternity good for someone that age that wants to text a lot? Thanks for any info.

Forgot to ask - what size is the screen, and can you use animated wallpapers for the main background?

I would not recommend it for a 1yrd old, unless it is a girl and she is very mature. This is NOT A RUGGED phone..

Thanks for the info. We got her the Eternity, but got a screen guard and silicon edge case. Nice phone - she loves it.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that (the Eternity broke easily)! Haven't had a bad enough drop to cause damage on ours yet, I guess. I think the newer super slim handsets may be more easily broken then the older beefy clamshells
