ok i took the battery out & it still wont turn off.

then i called metropcs to get insurance on the phone & they said i had to get insurance when i bought the phone. i barely bought it a month ago! plus you'd think since i spent almost $300 on this phone that metro would let me get insurance!

so any other suggestions on how to get this light off?

well i found out that its a defect. I also discovered if u put all ur stuff on ur memory card then take ur memory card out & then reset the phone then the light will go out. However the very next day the stupid light came back on & stayed on.

Now this phone has to be charged almost constantly & the battery dies very fast. The almost constant charging & the light always being on will no doubtablly cause the battery to have to be replaced within months.

if anyone else can help please let us know!

I hear you... I had my phone like that for a couple of days and it was really annoying me. I fixed it by editing the registry with regeditSTG2, which you can download for free directly from your phone. I just tryed to send the link but this site wouldn't let me because I haven't posted 20 messages yet, but I can email it if needed. By editing a few values you tell it exactly how long you want the display to stay on, when to go dim, keyboard light go off, etc. It is a bit tricky to find the locations of the files that need to be edited so let me know if you still havent fixed it yet and need help doing so. Also, always make one change at the time and try it so if you screw something up you can undo the change. You want to be very careful when editing the registry.

It's a good phone, you'll love it again once you fix it, good luck!

    Andres
