GT S5233 HeadPhone push button useless

I have recently bought samsung star gt s5233 model.it works gr8,only thing that bothers me is that the push button on headphone that came with it cannot be used to swap to incoming calls while listening to music.This is also not working to change between the radio stations while listening to FM radio.
There is a phone icon on the push button on headphone,so iam quite confident that it should serve some purpose.The userguide that came with it does not mention anything about it..
I just wanted to know whether this feature is available or not in this model.Can anyone using this same model pls confirm??
