Setting Up Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key on your device
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Tap "More settings"
  4. Press "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot"
  5. Tap "Mobile HotSpot"
  6. Select "Configure. Note: Swipe up and tap "Show advanced options" to gain access to all of the settings
  7. Tap the following settings to adjust them accordingly:

    • Network SSID
    • Broadcast network name (SSID) (on/off)
    • Security
    • Password
    • Broadcast channel
    • Maximum connections
    • Timeout settings


  8. Press "Save"

Turn Mobile Hotspot On / Off:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Press "Settings" and select "More settings"
  3. Tap "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot"
  4. Tap the switch associated with "Mobile Hotspot" in order to enable or disable the option

Note: If this is the first time you use mobile hotspot, you will be prompted to create a password before being allowed to use this feature. Once this pop-up window appears, tap the "Password" field and type-in your password (must be at least eight characters) then press "Save"

Tethering Via USB:

Tethering allows you to share your mobile data connection with your computer through a USB connection. Keep in mind that depending on your contract, tethering might result in extra charges on your carrier agreement.

  1. Grab the USB cable that came with your Samsung Galaxy Exhibit
  2. Plug the smaller (microUSB) end of the cable into your smartphone and the regular USB connector into your PC
  3. On your smartphone's home screen, press the "Menu" key
  4. Select "Settings" and tap "More settings"
  5. Press "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot"
  6. To start sharing your connection with your PC, tap the "USB tethering" checkbox on your smartphone. Press "OK" if you wish to learn more about tethering
  7. Once you are finished sharing your mobile connection with your computer, tap and uncheck the "USB tethering" checkbox on your smartphone's display
  8. Disconnect the USB cable
