Samsung Galaxy Core: Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Memory

My daughter has a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime smartphone. She is having problems with the phone due to shortage of internal memory so I bought her a 32 GB samsung micro SD card thinking that it would solve all her phone problems. However, I now understand that some apps will not transfer to the new SD card.

Is it possible to convert the secondary SD card into the primary memory and if it is possible how would she go about it please. I do not know which version of the Core Primary she has but it is probably an original version, though maybe with some OS updates. Many thanks.GT8
