I have a completely broken LCD/Digitizer on an AT&T SM-G920A with photos I'd like to recover.

I acquired the Verizon variant, (SM-G920V) of what I believe to be the same exact model S6 in "Black Saphire."

I was wondering, rather than remove the screen assembly from the new SM-G920V, and try to install it on the potentially compromised housing of the broken SM-G920A (phone could have more internal damage than just a broken screen), could I simply pull the main board off the broken phone, and swap the old board into the new phone? Would it operate?

Phone has no water damage, it just sustained damage from a 40ft drop onto concrete.

I've read mixed things about different connections internally between variants, and I'd rather not find out after the fact- so I figured I'd ask anyone in-the-know before disassembling the new phone and breaking any adhesive for no reason.

Again, the goal here is to recover data off the old phone that I've had sitting in a drawer since 2015 when this happened. Also worth noting: Old phone doesn't seem to hold a charge, although it seemed to still have power when the accident happened. I don't see any backlight when I plug it in to a charger, and nothing happens when I plug it into USB on my computer in my attempts to access DCIM directory, so I'm assuming it's not getting power or the broken screen assembly prevents it from booting.

Photos of the evidence, took additionals of the damaged phone to show the extent of it:

Any advice would be appreciated, I do have cell disassembly tools (and some experience with smart phone disassembly) on hand for the job.
