Hello all,
I stumbled onto this board in my tireless search for a solution to my problem.
Yesterday I got a new Sanyo MM-9000 and I must say OMG what a phone!!!
The problem I am having is with this "handler". I made a few mp3 ringtones of my own and have sucessfully uploaded to the phone using a WAP uploader. The phone tells me to get handler after upload is complete and gives me the option to press GO and get handler. When I do it takes me to the "get new screensavers" home page and I do not see an option to get the "handler"
I understand that I can convert to AAC or MP4 but I can not pay $50ish bucks to do so. I have cool edit pro but saving/converting to AAC or MP4 is not an option.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance

Thanks Brad for the link.
Now the WAP uploader is not allowing upload.
What(if any) WAP uplaoding site are you using?
I have tried WAPDj. mobileup and mindfulmusings. The first two ends up as page not found when I try to download from the phone. Mindfulmusings does not let me upload AAC or MP4 files.

Are the ringtones you made 30 seconds or less? This might be happening if the ringtones is too large. I am actively researching your problem as we speak, but in the meantime this is just a guess. Some people have had trouble with the ringtone being more than 30 seconds, or being too high a bitrate. Check on that while I keep looking for a more definite answer.

I've been looking for an answer to your problem, and the only information I could really find was telling me to try a different audio converter, DBPoweramp. It's at least worth a try, maybe the free converter is somehow different? I'm sorry I can't be more help to you, but try the DBPoweramp program and see if it works. It's free for 30 days, and if it works for you it's only $14 to keep after the trial period expires. I hope this does the trick...

Same results. I need to get this codec/handler into my phone.
I sent an email to Sanyo. I will post the reply when I get it.

Re: Sanyo MM-9000 "Handler"
I'm getting the same deal when I try to get a .gif image saved onto my phone so I can set it as an animated screen saver. I just don't know what to do. I tried to convert it into a .jpeg but then it doesn't have any movement, it just acts like a still picture.
Sorry, My phone is the MM 8300, but from what I understand, they all act alike. I love Sanyo phones.Last edited by RooDlux; 08-22-2006 at 05:40 AM.

Re: Sanyo MM-9000 "Handler"
Ok guys I have had and fixed this problem
1. Use DB Poweramp to convert to the format of your choice.
2. Right click the tone. and click edit Id tag
3. Delete everything Except title
4. Save
5. Convert again for some reason removing those setting changes the format a bit and reconverting solves it
6. Use your WAP Prog to Upload to phone.
