i recently bought a data cable for my mm-8300 phone. it came with the drivers on cd, i installed them, plugged my phone in and....nothing's happening. i checked under device manager and the computer registers the phone under 'modems', so i dont think there's a recognition problem. i want to transfer pics and data and stuff, but i dont know how to do that, as in what program to use etc. is it supposed to start up when i plug in the phone, or do i have to do something else? any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am having a similar problem to yours. Except mine is more complicated. My device manager doesn't even recognize the drivers on my disk. So I had to manually install them. And I'm still having problems. I can't connect to squat! But everyone keeps saying to use bitpim. Just yahoo it.

welcome to the new world of sprint, i just bought this phone this morning and same problem for me too. I called sprints so called "advanced tech support" and the bottom line is this. you now nust pay 40 a month for that service and buy there modem and sighn a 2 year agreement. Reverse engineering if you will, they made it that way on purpose. 8100 and 8200 will work but not 8300

My mom has an 8300 and it works just fine with her data cable. And I finally got mine to work. Seems my windows 98 just has a little problem installing drivers lol.

I didn't even bother with the cable. All I do is email the stuff I want from my phone to my email on my computer.
