    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I just got a new phone (siemens not nokia but I thought I would post here cause there's more people) and i can't take my sim card out. I want to put it back in my old phone, but there is a metal covering protecting the card (I think the manual refers to it as the holder tab). Should I try and pry this open, or is there any other way I can take the sim card out? Thanks a lot.

See More: can't remove sim card help please

k first, u gotta tell us what type of model it is
and second, look thoroughly at the metal covering the card, there HAS to be a way to open it

the phone is a siemens CF62T. I tried to gently pry the metal open with but it's not budging...and i don't see anywhere where it might swing open. All the manual mentions is how to get the card in - "Place the sim card in the slot with the contact surface facing downwards. Gently push the holder tab (the metal covering?) over the sim card." It doesn't say anything about getting it out. thanks

HOW TO GET SIM CARD OUT:

don't use too much force, it could damage the card & holder tab. on some phones the silver holder tab can be pushed down (i'm thinking moto tabs do this). try to push tab down with your finger tip. if these don't work go see a rep!!

On my nokia 3200, you slide the metal towards the front end of the sim, then lift.

on my cf62t... its hard to take it out.. you have to push it UP.. and it slides out the top.. the metal part does NOT move.. if you have long nails its easier

NONONONO NOT ALL SIEMENS ARE PUSH UP AND OUT! some models have the metal bit in the middle...

use a nail and slowly push on the flat side, going outwards with the little

push down using a nail from the top
    corner
