When I download the midi file it goes straight to Windows Media Player, so how do I save the file with Windows Media Player and then upload it to my yahoo geocities page.

Right click midi link and use the Save As... feature.
Then you can upload to your Yahoo acct., I assume Yahoo has an upload feature letting you browse your computer and select the file. I don't use them, so you'll need to check their FAQ's or info section.
