It seems like lately I have done nothing but answer peoples' questions by searching keywords and telling them what thread to go to. I am telling them every single time to please try our search next time and save everybody a headache. Still, I see some of them posting the same questions over and over again like they either ignored my advice completely or they think asking over and over again is going to get a different answer. In many cases, there is only one "right" answer and in many cases you can find it already answered with a Search.
Here is an easy tutorial on how to use our site's Search feature for everyone who is clueless how it works. When you click Search near the top of the page, it drops down a box with CPF Search and below that Google, and still below that is "Advanced Search".
If your phone is a v710 and you want info about uploading to your phone, put in 2 words, 'v710' and 'upload' and then read the threads that come up. If somebody tells you that your company may have blocked free uploads, put in 2 simple words like "telus" and "block" and your question will probably be answered. If you want to know if your phone will play mp3 ringtones try putting in "v710" and "mp3". You will be amazed at the results.
Now, if you feel you are getting too many results and need to narrow it down a little, that's what the "Advanced Search" is for. You click Advanced Search, put in some keywords, you can choose to search title only or entire thread, you can choose to search one forum at a time instead of all of them. You can also choose to search within a certain date range.
This Search is a really great thing, it can answer so many questions that people ask here all the time, that have already been answered over and over and over again. Please check it out, you might learn something new!
PS. If your question is related to the site like "how does CPF money work" or "why did somebody just call me a threadcrapper" that would be in our FAQ which has all our site's rules and can tell you how all that stuff works and most importantly explain what not to do if you want to avoid being banned. Hardly anybody reads the rules when they sign up, and that leads to a lot of avoidable conflicts if people would just read the FAQ.

When I work out the bugs in the CPF Toolbar, searching CPF should be much easier! Stay tuned!

I wish people would just read a thread or two in their respective forum or at least try this alien concept we call a "search" before they ask us things like "what is cpf money" and "what does unlocked mean" etc. It takes extra time to deal with those redundant questions and that's time we could be using to help people with legitimate problems that deserve our time.
But anyway your toolbar will be a great thing for the regulars after all the bugs are worked out, just please make sure you get approval from the moderators in charge here before you start distributing it. There's a link in my sig for the mod list, just send a PM to one of the admins like Jeanie.

Hey, im actually a die hard fan of the search button! Its one of my best friends, aside from your Bradums!! heh!
Seriously though, some search tips include..
If you want to find a review for the sanyo 9000, for example..
type sanyo 9000 review or try sanyo reviews
another example
if you want to know where you can find skins for your phone
try typing "cell phone skins" or "skins for motorola"
I find that typing a couple keywords actually works better than typing
for example : "Where can I get Motorola skins for my phone?"
More results with the first method!R.i.P MB.LD.AA

LOL, did someone ask that? That's funny, it brought up 94 results!

cingular/t-mo users ask about unlocks all day, rather than searching. wait, we CAN search, that's right!
SWEET!
