Just thought I'd make my intro as it seems to be the proper netiquette on any forum I join (and I join a lot).
My name's Matt. I didn't realize it until recently but I think I'm a forum junkie. I've joined so many forums in the last few years it's insane. I can't keep track of them all any more. I've only been banned from one, so that's a good thing... anyone ever been to Usual Suspect Network (a knife forum). That's the one.
Anywho, I joined this one mainly to find out as much as I can about my new LG cu500 that I got for Christmas, but being the gadget geek that I am I'll be reading about other phones just to either see what I'm missing out on or to inflate my phone ego by confirming that my purchase decision was a good one.
Before I got the cu500 I had a C1300i. The only thing that pushed me to upgrade is that I wanted a camera and better reception. Despite lousy reviews on cnet.com I really liked the C1300i. It was reliable, durable (I dropped the h3ll out of it), had easy to learn controls, and was a free upgrade. Did I mention it was free? Before getting the cu500 I had never "paid" for a phone. Just got whatever POS they were offering as "free" for either an upgrade or for entering into a contract.
Before that, I had a Nokia 3595, and before that (as a Verizon customer) a Motorola V120...
Well, that's my history as a cell phone user. Not to terribly impressive I know. While I love gadgets I should also mention I'm married and therefore have a gadget governor that regulates how often I can upgrade to the newest and coolest tech.

What do you do if, when you find the proper forum, as a newbie you're not allowed to post questions there until you've made at least ten comments elsewhere? That's what happened to me: my solution was to *post* those ten comments in this forum: I've been formally told I shouldn't have done that, but not what the proper solution was.
