Use iTunes on a Computer to Sync Contacts with Google:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, and then sync the account data with the Sony Xperia X Compact.

  1. Connect the iPhone to the computer using the Lightning cord
  2. Open iTunes on the computer
  3. Click the iPhone and access “Info”
  4. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Sign in with your Google account, or alternatively click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  7. Once the sync is done, switch to the Android phone, register the same Google account and allow it to sync contacts

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If the contacts on your iPhone are backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer with Internet connectivity and export the contacts in vCard format for Android.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Once the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of these steps:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts” using your Internet browser on the PC, or:
    • Connect the Sony Xperia X Compact to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import it

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: While the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can transfer contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app
  3. Tap “Backup” to create a backup file containing your iPhone contacts
  4. Once done, tap “Email” and ensure the vCard file is attached to the mail
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. Switch to the Sony device, open the email, and download the vCard
  7. Import the vCard using “Contacts”

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere. The application is available on iOS and Android uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files without requiring a computer.

  1. Install Send Anywhere on the iPhone via the App Store
  2. Install the same app on the Sony device from the Google Play Store
  3. Launch the app on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
  6. Lastly, select the desired transfer method (such as “Receive” or “Generate QR Code”) and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
