I am thinking about signing up for the SPRINT free INCOMING plan and wondered what you guys thought about it. Are ALL incoming calls, whether dialed from a cell phone or a landline actually FREE?

Also... what do you have to look out for? Is there any instance where an incoming call IS NOT free?

One more while I'm on a roll....

Do you feel this is better than the fair and flexible plans?

    Thanks in advance

    DAVID

Re: The SPRINT free INCOMING plan... a few questions???

I think the biggest factor as to whether or not this is a good deal would be how you use your phone. I know a family therapist who is on-call for her clients should they ever need to talk to her, and the free incoming plan works great for her, although when she calls people she tends to tell them to call her right back.

As far as I know, I haven't heard of any hidden charges regarding incoming calls. However, if you are on an outbound call and use call waiting to take an incoming call, you will be paying for the minutes that call #1 is on hold, same thing if you place a 3-way call and the first person on the line was an outbound call, you are paying for their minutes.

This is ok as long as you have enough outgoing minutes included in the plan, but keep in mind if you go over your outgoing minutes, the per-minute rate is 45c/min. As with any Sprint plan, I think it's definitely worth $10 extra for nights & weekends to start at 6pm instead of 9; you don't have to pay for as many minutes in your plan that way.

I think this is better than Fair & Flexible if it suits your needs, and that's something you'll have to decide after you consider how many incoming vs outgoing calls you make, and do you think it will bother you to always call people and tell them to call you right back.

Primarily designed for business people, that need to be reached by others all the time, it works well.
Many casual users like to try this plan, then find they're well over their minutes, within the first couple of weeks, and are screaming at CS like it's our fault.
If you need to make outgoing calls that are going to last more than a couple of minutes, don't get it.
300 minutes is only 15 outgoing minutes per weekday. One single call can take you over that average, leaving far less for the remainder of the cycle.
If you really think it's a good deal, try it, but dial *4 and check your minutes often, and don't yell at CS if you get a bill for overage.

All of your incoming calls are FREE while on the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network.

That kinda caught my eye. What do they mean WHILE ON THE NATIONWIDE Sprint PCS Network?

I thought this plan had FREE ROAMING, which should mean you are ALWAYS on the network right?

When are you NOT on the network, and how would you know?

    Just curious.

    Thanks

    DAVID

Prior to Nov 2005 roaming was not included. They just haven't updated the page yet.
When you're roaming, there'll be a flashing "R" on the phone.

its good if people are always calling you, but if you make the majority of calls, then just stick with a regular plan. on the F&F you only get charged $5 for every 50 minutes you go over. with the free incoming, it would be way more.
