Benney-Lundberg Sprint Class Action Settlement Info

edit: I don't know what you have to gain from this, from what I've read it doesn't seem worth the time and trouble. Also, things like this hurt us as future Sprint customers because lawsuits usually lead to rate increases. How else do you think they can recover the costs?

Thanks for the information but it looks like you never had any bad experience with Sprint, service is sucks, customer service sucks no wonder they want you to sign 2 years agreement, because that's the only way to keep a client and suck his blood I mean his money, I don't know this for a fact but I bet their repeat business rate is low. The class action is there for a reason my dear!! I am not the only one complaining

Re: Class action against sprint for overcharging??

HAHAHAHA never had a bad experience? My dear, look around our forums; there are plenty of testimonials from people who've used all the different providers and encountered similar problems to your own. I've had my share of problems with Sprint, as I did with Cingular right after they took over AT&T years ago.

The plain and simple truth is, whether or not you get anything accomplished with customer service depends on two things, the customer service rep (yes there are bad ones as well as some really awesome ones!) but the other variable is the customer's attitude. Phone companies aren't going to kiss anybody's butt or go out of their way to help someone who has an "I deserve compensation" attitude. If you want to resolve an issue, you have to treat the call as if you are "concerned" and not "scorned" or else nobody is going to be too interested in helping you fix it.

As for "reception" I assume that's what you meant by service, what part of the country are you in? Are there geological factors (mountains, valleys, hundreds of acres of woodlands) involved, are you in a rural or urban area, what material is your home constructed out of! There are sooo many factors involved in reception, you can't just blame your phone company for it every time. In my experience, Sprint has good digital roaming reception in many places where Verizon, T-Mobile, and Cingular are all completely No Service. In Florida, I have great Sprint reception, but those times where I do roam, I get full bars thanks to roaming agreements with Verizon and Alltel.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with Sprint, but you're not the only one who has a bad experience with their phone company. I've had my own share of problems with Sprint, and some of them have required making more than one call to get to the right person, but I assure you every problem has been resolved through a professional diplomatic effort, not by calling them with the mindset that I deserved something for my trouble.

lol not every problem Brad. I'm still trying to resolve mine and I'm so frustrated that any kind of lawsuit seems like a good idea even though I agree with you that it may lead to higher rates. Having said that though, things like this lawsuit might make the big companies wake up and realize they can't treat people the way they do. I realize that will be a slow process.

SORRY to hurt FUTURE Sprint VICTIMS,
but those of us who have been wronged are entitled to
ATTEMPT recouping ANY amount of money we have been DUPED!
    WHAT IS CONFUSING ABOUT THAT???

You know what? Ignorant attitudes like yours are one of the few things that really gets under my skin. Are you so naive to think the only company that ever has a billing problem is Sprint? Are you so petulant to assume every Sprint customer is a VICTIM just because you had a problem you couldn't resolve? If you acted on the phone like you're acting in our forums, no wonder they weren't able to help you. As I've said before, you need to take a minute to browse our other service provider forums and you will quickly see that every service provider has their own share of pissed off customers and you need to quit acting like Sprint is the only one. I guess you haven't heard the news lately, about the Cingular and Verizon class action suits? Oh jeez that blew my mind, I really DID think Sprint was the only carrier that could make a mistake. OOPS.

Are you setup with Sprint's online account information? You can check your minutes used there, and at the end of each billing cycle you can view the detailed statement and itemized charges. Don't assume just because a few unhappy customers are crying about billing problems that you have one too, check your detailed statement and if you see any unrecognized charges, call 877.812.1223 for assistance. They will be more than happy to help (if you maintain a calm and professional attitude, which I suspect is where a lot of these people have gone wrong).

Compared to whom? I just looked at Family Plans (that's what I'd need, 3 phones) at Cingular, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Honestly, none of them have solid coverage when I go out of town, but just for kicks.

Sprint: 1500 daytime minutes, unl. Nights/Weekends @7pm, unlimited calling to other Sprint, Nextel, and Boost users. $89.99 first 2 lines, $10/month each add. line. For $10 more you can get earlier Nights & Weekends @6pm.

Cingular: 1400 daytime minutes, unl. Nights & Weekends @9pm, unlimited calling to other Cingular users. $89.99 first 2 lines, $9.99 each add. line. For $14/month, you can get "extended nights & weekends" @7pm.

Verizon: 1400 daytime minutes, unl. Nights & Weekends @9pm, unlimited calling to other Verizon users. $89.99 first 2 lines, $9.99 each add. line. ( extra minutes 40c/minute!)

T-Mobile: 2000 daytime minutes, unl. Nights & Weekends @9pm, unlimited calling to other T-Mobile users. $99.99 first 2 lines, $9.99 each add. line. The only other thing they had was 1000 minutes for $69.99, honstly one was too much, the other not enough, and the Nights/Weekends start too late...

T-Mobile and Verizon didn't give me an option for earlier nights/weekends, and I currently have that @6pm with Sprint, we use over 2000/month after 6pm. Also, being able to call Sprint AND Nextel free is good for me because a lot of the people I call are one or the other. Either way, none of those three have solid coverage where we travel and Sprint does. I don't work for them or anything, but people really do seem to like bashing Sprint relentlessly and I've had some pretty good experience with them so I get tired of it. No matter who you're with, someone's gonna have a problem sometime or another, and class action this class action that, almost everyone has one out these days in case nobody's seen the news. http://cellphoneforums.net/cell-phon...ion-suits.html

Not for me, because I already use over 1200 daytime minutes/month between my 3 lines even though it starts @6pm! I can easily see us going over 2000 minutes between myself and 2 other people if our free minutes didn't start until 9pm. I still think Sprint is the best deal for me.

Brad I don't think it is fair to jump down a newbie's throat for expressing a vary valid opinion that many of us share. You talk a lot about being professional and curteous, but your reply to coolchik4sure was anything but. You know of all the problems I've had with sprint and I had took your advice about being polite and curteous. YOU KNOW WHAT IT GOT ME!!!!! 23 FREAKIN CALLS WITH NO RESOLUTION!!!!!!!! I agree with her completely. If we can get anything back so be it. If that hurts sprint or customers that are happy, too bad. SOME OF US DESERVE JUSTICE!!! If sprint raises their rates to compensate, leave and find a different cell phone provider. I have friends with every big cell service and the only ones that are ever unhappy are Sprint customers.

(P.S. Brad congrats on your pacman score!)

You're partly right, but she could have picked one thread to express her opinion instead of saying the same thing 4 different times. Further, yes it is in my opinion very petulant to assume every Sprint customer is a "victim" just because you've had a bad experience, and it's naive to think they are the only ones who ever piss off a customer, so I had a couple valid points to make as well. Sorry if this offended you, but we are not a "flaming" forum and if all she wants to do is fuss and complain all over the place there are places specifically just for that, but not on our site.
