I am currently with the sprint network, and in a few weeks i will be eligible for an upgrade.(eligible for it now,but financially have to wait a couple weeks)....
and as usual , i am having a hard time deciding what phone to choose. i currently have a lg rumor, and i am trying to decide on either getting the lg lotus, motorola q9c, or samsung instinct.
i have done extensive research on all 3,but i still cant come to an conclusion on which to get.
if it was your decision what would you guys choose??

I am too looking at 2 of the 3 phones you are looking at. I am looking at the Instinct and the Q9C. I like the feel and the look of the MotoQ9C, as I have a smart phone currently, but I would like the touch screen of the Instinct. I have researched and such, but I just want to know a few things... Which one would anyone recomend for the following uses, and why:
E-mail--I need to get e-mail from work (outlook 2003) and respond fairly quickly.
Light internet-- when I am on the go and bored, or to use for work or such
Phone-- Obviously
Texting-- not that much, maybe 200/month max
Customization-- ring tones for certain people
Any input is much appriciated!! Thanks

yeah i was looking into the q9c too..
but for some reason the carriers here are getting rid of them.
the sprint store has them,but no one else does. i think the
sprint stores may be getting rid of them soon. but it is a nice looking phone and would be great for what i needed it to do.
but my fiancee insists on getting us both instincts..so i cant complain there.
but from my research i;ve read that some ppl say that the internet on the instinct is kinda slow. and with you needing to reply to emails rather quickly i dont know how that would work for you.

Hhhmmm... that does pose some interesting thinking for sure... How about the HTC Touches.. have you given them a look at all? I did like the G1 from T-Mobile, but wasnt sure about it running Google OS. Sprint has them running WinMo6, so not sure how different it would be, any thoughts?

as far as the htc touch goes, i have seen them on display in the stores,but never had the time to mess around with them. alot of people say that they are nice phones though. i'd say do some research on the phone to see if it has has the features that you need in a phone.

Dont confuse the the Touch with the Touch Pro...
They are both by HTC and run windows mobile. But the PRO has a keyboard which slides out more like the mogel and the TOUCH does not more like the iphone..
Personally i am in a holding pattern, I have a treo 700p which i got the week they came out. I want an android based phone, with keyboard. I would love to the the Touch PRO with all its features (additionally a standard headset jack) but running the android (Google/TMo G1) operating system.
If you could hold off, the big GSM trade show was this week and in April is the US cell phone trade show. I am betting sprint will be making some announcements there.

Complaint to Sprint: My Story
In order to prevent some of Sprint representatives to cheat more victims, I put my story here.
I am writing to dispute charges on 2009 telephone bills request confirmation of my contract price of $45.99 per month. The price Sprint quoted for my monthly services was $45.99 but my current bill shows that Sprint is charging me $89.96 per month. This is not the amount I agreed to so it is my hope that it was simply an error. Please correct the error and notify me prior to the next billing cycle of the correction.
As I stated above, I hope that the difference between the contract price and the charges on my bill was simply an error. My concern is, however, that Sprint is engaging in a pattern and practice of unfair business practice, particularly with regards to its Chinese customers. Here’s what transpired.
I’ve had Sprint cell phone service since January, 2007. It was a shared plan (Power Pack Family 550 shared Minutes): I paid $59.99 for two lines and $9.99 for each of the three additional lines. The total cell phone service charge was $89.96 a month plus tax and fees. It was a two years contract and would end in January 2009.
At the end of October, 2008, I received a phone call from a Sprint representative named Ms. Lee. She spoke Chinese and asked me if I would like to continue my Sprint cell phone service when my contract expired. I told her that I would like to change to another phone company since the service fee was high and I did not use my cell phone much. Then she offered a new shared service plan that Sprint would charge me $49.99 for three cell phone lines with 350 any time minutes, which was $19.99 cheaper than my old service plan. I agreed to accept this plan. She told me that the new plan would not start until January 2009 and I could get 3 cell phones free. She also gave me a Sprint customer service phone number: 1-888-361-1962 for any questions I might have.
In November 2008, Mr. Feng, Identification # 625, called, spoke Chinese, and told me that he would assist me with my Sprint cell phone service because Ms. Lee transferred to another department. He offered me for $45.99 per month for three phone lines with 350 anytime minutes. Then he asked me to introduce new customers to Sprint cell phone service so I introduced one of my colleague, Mr. Wang to him.
On December 8, 2008, Mr. Feng called, and in Chinese, told me that Sprint had a promotion: the customer could add cell phone lines free with the same shared minutes. He said that I just need to pay for the cell phone and would I then get the money reimbursed. I told him that I wanted to add another two cell phones if no service fee would be added to my bill. He told me that someone would call me in a few minutes to confirm the addition. He said that I would be told that each additional line I added to my plan would be charged for $9.99. He said:“ Don’t care about what she will say. You just say yes. The person who does the confirmation is from another department. Those Americans, English speaking people, they don’t know how we Chinese are doing business. I promise you that you will be charged for $45.99 for five cell phone lines when you get you phone bill in January 2009.” In reliance upon his representation I followed his insturction. When the Sprint representative called and asked me to confirm my contract , I said “Yes” as instructed. Then Mr. Feng called me again and asked me to advertise the low service fee to my friends and introduce more potential customer to him. I told him I would try.
I felt uneasy with what Mr. Feng said about “Those Americans, English speaking people, they don’t know how we Chinese are doing business”, so at the beginning of January 2009, I called Sprint customer service to confirm the service fee on my phone bill. A lady named Ms. Ana Luo answered the phone. I told her my phone number and the reason I called. She checked my account on her computer and told me that My phone bill would be $45.99 for January 2009. Then I told her that one of my colleague, Mr. Meng would like to join Sprint with $45.99 for three cell phone lines. I told her Mr. Meng’s phone number.
When I received my January 2009 cell phone bill, the service fee was $69.98 for three lines, not $45.99, and to total charge for 5 cell phone lines was $89.96, not $45.99.
I called Sprint customer service (1-888-361-1962) on January 28, 2009 and asked to talk to Mr. Feng. The Sprint representative who answered the phone told me that Mr. Feng was not there and a representative named Sophia Hou, would help me. Hearing that my phone bill should be $45.99 instead of $89.96, she immediately told me that it was impossible since Sprint did not have such a service plan. However, after I told her my full story, she said she would ask Manager Liu and asked me to hold the line. She came back a few minutes later and told me that Manager Liu said my phone bill was a mistake, that I should pay the bill and would get a check of $60, and that my February phone bill would be $45.99, just as Mr. Feng told me.
However, no correction was made. My February bill still had charges totaling $89.96 and I have not received my refund. The same happened to my friend and colleagues.
Consequently, I am very concerned that Sprint sales representatives, Mr. Feng, Ms. Lee, Ms. Luo (Ana), Ms. Hou, (Sophia) and Manager Liu and Sprint have engaged in unfair and deceptive business practices to bilk myself and other Chinese nationals out our hard-earned money. As such, if Sprint does not immediately remedy the problem, I and the others harmed by this practice will be forced to seek redress through the State of California Office of the Attorney General.
