News: Android 2.3 Gingerbread starts rolling out for T-Mobile G2

Finally after a long wait, the T-Mobile G2 finally receives the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. The update began rolling out yesterday and should have notified T-Mobile G2 users via their handset. Since this is and was an over-the-air update, everyone will not receive the update at the same time and it may take a couple weeks for it to completely reach everyone.

If for some reason you do not receive the update around the August 5th, you can take your device to a T-Mobile store to have them download the update for you. You may want to back up all your stuff as the manual update will cause you to lose your data.

The update not only brings the Android 2.3 Gingerbread but will also improve on Wi-Fi, improved SMS and email, sending MMS from the Gallery app and the addition of Google Books.
