Had a 6230 on Orange originally. Unlocked it and used it for past year
or so with Orange Contract SIM and then Virgin PAYG and another Orange
PAYG in last few weeks.
Sold it privately to someone yesterday. Today they claim it didn't
accept an Orange SIM or an O2 SIM. Said that they could see no contacts
nor could they phone the number on the SIM.
Before selling I cleared everything off manually then did a "Restore
Factory Settings". Would that have reinstated the Orange network lock
at all?
Meeting the buyer tomorrow to try and sort it and I'm hoping it's down
to the buyer being a complete mook and putting SIM in wrong or having
Contacts being set to Phone only or other plausible explanations(I'll
also be checking the IMEI is the same I sold). Bit bizarre that it's
worked non stop for 14 months, then all of a sudden won't accept a SIM.

If they got as far as looking at the contacts then the SIM card was
indeed accepted.
