    i am on orange payo at the moment, if i cange to
    contract, i can keep my number, if i change back
    after the contract finishes, can i keep my number?

    Yes. You can change from PAYG to Contract any number of times I
    believe. In the past Orange did have a requirement for Contract to PAYG
    conversions and then back to Contract again, you'd need to be on PAYG
    for a minimum of 3 months before they'd allow the conversion back again.
    This was to stop people upgrading by the back door.

    I've no idea whether the rule remains today.

    But can you move a PAYG number onto an existing contract? I'm moving my
    existing number onto a PAYG SIM and took out a new contract to get an
    animal tariff and a new handset (18 month contract). I've had my old
    number for over 7 years. Can I move it over after 3 months and have it
    replace my new contract number?

    No. Well, yes but you would have to port it out of Orange and then back
    in.

    Only by porting out and then in again.
