My BIGGEST recommendation: Buy a phone from us (I mean from one of our
stores) and try it hard and heavy for the 14 days you get from us. If the
service doesn't meet your needs, the worst you're out is the activation fee
    and some minutes charges.

Ummm... Our "4900" is a Sanyo. I'm fairly sure that's what you meant.

And it's got a very loyal following. Not the zippest phone for data (I mean
that right on the phone screen itself). But great reception, great battery
    life, and very few problems.

I think he would then have to pay the activation fee and a full month's service
    fee.

A better solution is to buy the phone (perhaps from Best Buy, which I think has
a 30-day return policy) and make calls to *2 all over town, and particularly at
one's usual haunts (home, office, etc.) at various times of day, especially rush
hours. Only after you have a degree of confidence that Sprint's coverage,
penetration, capacity, and voice quality will meet your needs should you then
activate the phone and try it out some more.

I believe he said that verizon did not have service there. He
    would roam uscellular analog.

You might want to check your zip code online because even though Verizon doesn't have a store I find it hard to believe that verizon woudln't have reception, espessially such sprint does since in many cases they share towers.

Re: Dump US Cellular and go Sprint?

Hello, John I am sorry you feel this way but I think your post is not quite accurate. Heres the truth about USCellular. We offer ulimited incoming text and picture messages w/or w/o a text or pic package. No one else does that not even SPRINT. We offer a great selection of phones similar to what SPRINT carries like the Razr or the new rumor/260. We also offer great coverage for this area and for the surrounding areas we offer national plans. We offer are customers the chance to renew their contracts at 18 months instead of 2years like SPRINT does. We also allow our customers the chance to change their plan anytime w/o penalty or having to renew a contract. SPRINT offers the oppertunity to change your plan within the first 6 months w/o renewing your contract. After 6 months you have to renew your contract. Both companies offer the latest and greatest in technology like the newest data packages and features. SPRINT has great coverage along busy streets and major hwys but the truth is when you get off road and get on a rural route you loose signal. I know this for a fact because I have had the oppertunity to use all the phone inside and outside the city. I prefer USCellular

Re: Dump US Cellular and go Sprint?

If you would like to contact me via PM I would be more than happy to help you, I am originally from Monroe City and had sold cellular service in the Quincy/Hannibal area for the past year and a half, all you have to do is register to PM me... I will help you decide what carrier you need based on your wants/needs.

    Thanks, Chris
