I bought SKy IM 7200 from Korea and brought it to US. But I am not sure where I can get Verizon Service with this Phone.
Does anyone know how activate this phone in US to hook it up with Verizon?
I live in NJ/NY so if anyone know some store they can fix the cell ( chip or program ) so I can use in US, please let me know.

    Thank you.

Hi. My grandmother will be going to Korea and I will ask her to bring me back an im7200. It looks so cool cuz I saw it in a store in LA. They were charging $480 with a $200 rebate that comes in 2-3 month and this was for a 2 year plan with verizon. They told me that it costs more to activate the phone with t-mobile (around $530). So what i am trying to say is that you can use the phone with t-mobile. I will not buy it from the store but buy it from korea because the store is asking for too much money. I need to know how to unlock it before i buy it so i won't waste my money if i am not able to unlock it. So if anyone knows how to unlock the phone, plz help me and junee0420 out .

    Heya

I got mine in Ktown. The store is Shinsaegae (can't type korean lol) at 5 W 32nd St 212-239-2660. I bought mine from there and they set it up with verizon. I'm not sure if they would accomodate you if you bought the phone somewhere else but u can give it a try.

I got data cable too but so far I'm having a hard time with it. If you know of an english data manager (and manual for that matter) let me know. I speak some korean but my reading skills suk :/

    hey
thanks a lot for replyin ontology.
I'll give that place a try but before i decide for sure that im gonna buy it, is the sky 7200 worth the money? I know that its fairly expensive because it is like 530,000 won in korea which is around 500 bucks in us dollars. How much did you get it for? I, like many other koreans, love cell phones( i am currently using the samsung e170, aka samsung d415 or samsung slider) but im thinking of getting the lee hyo ree phone (samsung v420, aka samsung p735) when it comes out in america in around 2-3 months if the sky 7200 ends up being out of my price range. Please tell me if the phone is actually worth the money.

    Heya mista LEE

Well I love the phone but many of the features are not enabled. I can't connect to the online services for instance, but the rest is awesome.

I paid $600 for mine :/ I know its crazy but once I saw this phone I couldn't stop myself. But as I mentioned, I'm having trouble getting the drivers in english so I can transfer pictures and stuff. If you learn anything let me know.

can you be more specific about what functions work and which doesn't?

should i activate it in korea and download a bunch of stuff (i.e., ringtones, games, etc) before i take it with me to the US?

was anybody successful in activiating a 7200 phone bought in KOrea and activating it in the US (specifically cali)?

I too have the IM-7400. It is VERY hard to use the Data Manager when you don't understand Korean, but if you have any knowledge of regular, everyday programs, they are basically the same. I know that Tommy is a straight shooter and he can come through as he says. He can also help you with ringtones and screen savers for your Sky phones. I believe there is a fee for a CD of stuff, but it's worth it, where else can you find these items. If anyone can find a program to convert ringtones, mp3's etc for the IM-7400, I would love to know about it. Even if you can find a site that we can download the songs to our comps since we can't use the internet on the Sky's in the US. Thanks
