I have a reasonable cell phone plan w/cingular and a nokia 3595. The reception is very poor at my home. Would getting a better phone help, or should I switch to verizon who is more expensive but works well for my neighbors?

Well, where is this home location you are referring to?
There are better phones for rf, but also need to check coverage maps.

Most likely it's the service, not the phone? Have you had bad reception since day one, or has it just started?

check out a regional map via your zipcode here..
    Cingular Wireless
also you might want to call cingular, and tell them your location etc.. sometimes they will admit when they have a bad spot.

we've had bad service since day one. maybe i'll try calling cingular and see what they say. verizon is $20 more a month and we don't use our cell phones that much. maybe there's another option? we have the family plan with 2 phones.
