Ughhhh
I got home from work this morning (I work midnights) and My Daughter was playing with my husbands cell phone, well I took it off of her and wiped off the jelly...to my surprise there was a text message from a number that I dont know saying *I'm here* @1:18am...I tried every reverse cell number look up possible but they all want credit cards or checks...is there any real free cell phone number look ups out there, I read all the posts here and so far they all want money. I would use our credit card to look it up but the husband has it any help is appreciated. Also...Trac phones...if the number is listed to a trac phone will it come up?
Thank you

I know they're hard to find, but you can conduct a free reverse cell number lookup right here. I've tried them myself, and they really are free of charge!
Best of luck with your toddler!

Anyone who has ever tried searching for even 10 mins. knows that there is no such thing as a cell phone directory. Especially web detective or any other do it yourself look up. To begin with web detective is just a pile of free links conveniently put together. That's all. If you pay for a subscription for a do it yourself search engine your throwing your money away. There is only 1 way to get the name and address of a cell or unlisted number. That way is to hire a private investigator. It runs $40 at my site which is www.caseclosedinc.com . Or you can try locatecell or datatrace for $59 each number. Keep in mind that these companies were operating illegally and are curently being sued by the Illinois attorney general and facing a fine of $50,000 per violation. Injunctions have been placed by all the major cell phone carriers. Try it yourself, spend all day looking for a reverse number and see what you come up with. As a Licensed and bonded Investigator I can tell you from days (not hours) searching online that you get what you pay for. Us Search and the rest of those companies have 2 year old databases. I locate wanted fugitives for bounty hunters all day. In my spare time I help people reverse numbers that most of the time end up belonging to girl/boy friends.

especially at 1am, after a long flight or trip.[/QUOTE]

New Site Evaluating Best Online Background Search/ Detective Services.

I know that's a broad and relatively subjective question, but it considers those sites designed to provide online background searches, skip tracing, reverse phone lookup*, and the like.
I'd everyone's input (especially if our forum moderators could help with this, perhaps with surveys ) as I'm still in the evaluation stage; though I've done a considerable amount of research myself (it's a lot of fun), I would like it to be as representative as possible of others' personal experiences as well.
So, if you'd like to start jotting down a couple impressions and passing them on via this forum/ thread, I'd appreciate it and I think whoever asks this question next (and I'm sure there will be others), this will be a resource that can help expand on all the criteria that seem important to us.
The new site is here: http://www.best-detective.com. Look forward to developing this work with contributions from all of you soon. And, an extra thanks to all of those who provide a caring and productive forum for addressing important questions such as these! As we've seen in this thread alone, they are very much appreciated!
* I would have included another site that's devoted to cell phone reverse lookup (mainly because it does these for free), but it doesn't cover as many other services as the detective sites discussed above.

and so on. Try Yahoo and MSN as well, as their indexes fluctuate and differ slightly.
If you want to pay for results, it IS a bit of a risk, so go with a company that offers a refund policy. For example Cell Phone Reverse Lookup has a 56 day guarantee - no results, then get a refund.
But try Google first.
And if you're a real "do it yourselfer", then check out the more detailed tutorial on conducting a free reverse lookup using search engines at Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookup - Zimbio
Best of luck

Re: Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookup
I've tried numerous reverse look-up services
(free and paid) and you do have to be very careful
and read the Terms very carefully !!!
All the way through, too. Some say refund if no results,
but have a fine line in there that if they return "any"
results, you will still be charged, and it is a major
process to prove they didn't provide you the information
that you wanted.

Re: Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookup
I agree, you have to be careful. The market seems to have heated up since this time last year. For visitors, I can imagine that its gotten a lot harder to determine just what to expect from this type of service.
That's where, I think, the confusion has set in about whether or not they can obtain a free reverse cell phone lookup or not -- and, relatedly, questions about the depth of the information, for free searches.
I won't try and lead you. I think the wisest advice in regard to free reverse cell phone lookup services is to just consider the value of whatever you might get for free . . . and, if you're really interested in obtaining such services, don't be surprised that your service provider asks a few dollars in return.
Happy New Year!

Re: Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookup
There is no FREE LUNCH!
You get what you pay for! Did you pay a business for lunch or dinner somewhere this week? Would you eat out if the meal was free? Would you wonder where it came from, how it was made? "Taco B" is cheap enough in price to make you wonder where the beef is from.
Same with the quality of "information" Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookups are exactly that. You want Free - don't complain about the taste. If you want quality, then continue reading.
Believe it or not, Information (like phone numbers) is a commodity just like Orange Juice, grains, and other things traded on open markets daily.
The site below has been in service for over 10 years and before the web we sported over 50 USR 14.4 modems with dial up access since the early 90's.
Look over the site and if you really have a need for the information and don't mind paying for it then read on. If you’re wanting something FREE you would have found it already if it existed. Google has grabbed everything free at this point. So if you really want to know?
