    Palm Treo 680
    Palm Treo 750
    Blackberry Curve 8310
    Moto Q (TM) Global
    Samsung Blackjack II

Which one would you choose and why?

I am not very phone savvy on the technical details that they list about phones, so I am in need of your guys' help. I am looking to upgrade from my KRAZR to a PDA phone so I can have a bit more usability.

Things that are most important to me:

Organizer (being able to keep a schedule book, lists, etc)
    Internet
    Durability (pocket, travel)
    Reliability (software)

Things that aren't super important to me:
    Video, Camera, Music

Hi there, here is my 2 cents. Do keep in mind I am a very happy Treo 750 owner, so it may come across a tad bit biased.

You have 3 different OS covered in your list - Palm OS (Treo 680), BB OS (Curve), WM OS (Treo 750, Blackjack II). I would eliminate the Moto Q, not too many happy owners of this.

The different OS have different advantages. For a true full function PDA, a WM device would be the best choice, the Blackjack II is a SmartPhone & not a PDA, so it does lack some PDA functions.

The BBs are the best for E-Mail, and not so good for web browsing.

The Palm OS is excellent but seems to be getting left behind in upgrades. It is the easiest to learn & very stable.

The WM OS probably has the most lock ups.

If I were you I would choose between the Treo 750 and the Curve by going to a store and playing with them, ensuring that your requirements are met. I would also use the 30 policy to try it out extensively & switch if necessary.

Both the 750 & the Curve have excellent voice quality & rf.

Hope I helped some, please ask if you have questions.

    Good luck

The Moto Q Global has had a lot of unhappy people? It seems like it has so many great features! The AT&T website shows great reviews. What have you heard that is bad about it?

You say that the WM OS has the most lockups, which is what the Trio 750 is, right? How often are the lockups, does it just need shut off and restarted? How fast is the phone to responding to commands? I think it's neat that the Trio 750 offers the QWERTY keyboard and a touch screen!

I've definitely narrowed it down to the Trio 750, Blackberry 8310, or the Moto Q Global.

Does anyone else have any advice or personal experiences with some of the phones that I like?

I am basing my statement about the Moto Q on the questions posted on forums of how tedious , slow & unstable it is.

A WM device usually locks of because too many applications are open at any one time. Truthfully WM6 is a lot more stable & I rarely have to soft rest mine.

The response time ofcourse is much slower than a regular phone but definitely adequate.

You are right the Treo 750 is WM, but it is a lot of useful Palm features in it which is nice.

    What I miss?

    Adding a little more information:

    1. The Curve does not have 3G, both the Treo and Moto do but the Treo also has Euroasian 3G (2100) if you travel overseas.

    2. The Moto Q is also technically a SmartPhone based on the OS. It is the WM Standard (Smartphone) Ver 6 & the Treo is WM Professional (Pocket PC) ver 5.2. The Moto OS is similar to the Blackjack II.

    3. The Treo is the only one with QWERTY and touch screen.

    4. The Curve, the Motorola Q, and the Blackjack II, all have GPS, the Treo does not. I use it with Google Maps location and it suffices in a bind.

As you can see I am still pushing the Treo, I have had it for almost 13 months, the longest ever I have owned any phone with any provider, the second closest was 10 months.

I am not sure if you have seen this, but this might help decision making easier:

Treo 750 vs Motorola Q vs BB Curve.

I haven't used the other phones much. But I'll just throw in my 2 cents... I love the Curve. It feels great, typing is a joy, and the solid platform running it.
