Most kids nowadays have started demanding cellphones at very early ages. There are also reports of using cellphones which are hazardous to siblings and may cause adverse effects on brain and bodies.
    What is your say?
Should schools allow children to carry mobile phones?
Should they be allowed to use the phones to play games in it.

I don't think young children should have cell phones especially in schools. I can understand giving your kid an extra phone in the house every now and again when you need to get ahold of them but to have them demand the most expensive new hot phones on the market and then play games on it in school is ridiculous.

    Cheers

Re: Should kids be given a cell phone?

FOR TOTALLY SURE !!!! I had to be dragged into giving kids cell phones in their teens. If I had it to do over, Iwould give the kids one at VERY young age. I wrote article on ehow How to use cell phone to protect kids.

AFter reading this forum I may have to write a couple of more articles. I have seen the cell phone help preschoolers during family crisis.
That said I would not give a cell phone to a child tha tis DEmanding one. But parents should like my article points out view it as a tool and use accordingly.

They should in a way if they going to use it to make important phone calls, if they have no other ways of getting in touch with there parents or family members, if they make good grades in school, do what they suppose to do at home, and if they aren't trouble makers. But not if they make there parents buy them one or command them to like kids does today, and the parents ask like they are scare of there kids, and you have the parents that will get in debts just to get there kids a cellphone or will buy them what they want even if they are making bad grades or getting in serious trouble.

Re: Should kids be given a cell phone?

Cell phones provide important functions for the kids as well. They both serve as a tool for communication and for safety. But parents should really consider several factors before they decide to give their kids a cell phone. Some of these factors are the need to have it and their maturity to handle the device. If parents find it a need to give their children a cell phone of their own already, it’s important for them to orient their children about the proper way of using the device. One of these is turning the phone off when attending a class. Their discipline will start from the proper guidance of their parents.

Now, parents should be very careful in choosing the cell phone to give to their children. Ideally, they should only give them a simple cell phone as this only provides the basic features of a phone, avoiding the chance for children to get overwhelmed by the way it works. A cell phone with emergency response system is also advisable for children.

    Give Kids Cell Phones....

Now, you have to be their parent and not their friends, set rules for them to be responsible and accountable for having their own cell phone. Lets not blame cell phones for a child's behavior.

Cell phones are a great tool to stay in-touch with your child, whether its for emergencies, change in plans, pick-ups, locations, or general help.

Its up to the school/teacher and Parent.... i stress PARENT/PARENTS

My kid got her first Cell Phone in the 7th or 8th, it was to remain OFF until after school or in case of emergency... that was the deal period
