Re: Is it bad to give out your IMEI number?
Giving away your IMEI number is dangerous though if the person is reliable, but most of the cases its harmful.
Its very difficult and expensive for the corporate sector to send text messages to each of their loyal customer when it comes to market new product or promotion "Mocean sms" is the your solution to market everything any thing via text in cheapest rate.

Re: Is it bad to give out your IMEI number?
Poster of this is wrong
First you need to know how manufacturer made imei
First 8 digit is TAC number aloceted to each model ( if model sell in milions of psc TAC numbers are more )
Last digit is calculate on Luhn formula
So we have now only 6 digit left for made IMEI
So nobady need to get it from you. Some cheater if need just generate it.
But imei number will not help cheater after phone cloning etc.
If some clone Your simcard can cheat you for a lot of money. But to clone sim card cheater must have it in his hand.
So one more after gIveing IMEI number to eg codes seller nothing can happen.

Re: Is it bad to give out your IMEI number?
It is bad to give your Imei Number specially when you give it to the wrong person.
They might use that imei number to harm you and it can even destroy your reputation. For example, they will use your imei as the imei number of the phone they wanted to sell online.
Remember its your phone UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION ADDRESS
