Hey,

I have been searching for a new cell phone these past couple of hours and I've found a lot of interesting stuff, but I am confused with certain things.

1. Can I use smartphones on a student plan? I just want a good phone for texting, listening to music and checking my e-mail. I don't care if half the features don't work.

2. If I have understood correctly, by purchasing an unlocked phone, you can get any cell phone on the market with any carrier?
