Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

iTunes is a pretty complex tool, and offers a lot more than a way to listen to your favorite music. It can also sync your iPhone contacts with a Google account, allowing you to transfer them onto your Android device.

  1. Open iTunes on your computer (if you need to download the client, visit the official Apple website)
  2. Use the USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC
  3. Click on your iPhone after it appears in iTunes
  4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google username and password if you haven't done this before. Otherwise, you can click "Configure" and choose a previously added account
  7. Click "Apply" iTunes will sync the contacts with the Google account
  8. On your Mate 2 4G, register the same Google account and allow it to sync contacts with your device. (If you need to add the account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts")

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

iCloud allows you to export your iPhone contacts, as long as you have an account and you've used the service on your device before. To use this method:

  1. Visit using your computer's Internet browser
  2. Log in to your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts" and from the list, select the contacts that you want to export
  4. Click the "Settings" icon (located in the lower-left side) and select "Export vCard"
  5. A VCF file containing your contacts will now be downloaded on your computer
  6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, connect your Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G to your computer via USB, and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the "Contacts" app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "SD card". Select the account to where you wish to save the contacts, choose the VCF file and tap "OK"

Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application:

"My Contacts Backup" is an iOS application allowing you to back up your contacts in the form of a VCF file, which can then be used to import the contacts on your Android device. To do so:

  1. Visit the App Store on your iPhone and install "My Contacts Backup"
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup". This will create a VCF file with your iPhone contacts
  3. Tap "Email" to attach the VCF file to an email
  4. Enter your own Gmail address as the email's recipient, and send it
  5. Switch over to your Ascend Mate 2, and open the email
  6. Download the attached VCF file and import the contacts to your device via the "Contacts" app

Using the "Bump" Application:

"Bump" is an interesting app, in the fact that it allows you to transfer contacts through the cloud. You don't need access to a computer, any cables or a smartphone with Bluetooth or NFC. All you need is an active data connection on both smartphones and you're set to go.

  1. Install "Bump" on your iPhone from the App Store
  2. Visit the "Play Store" on your Huawei and download the same application
  3. Open the app on both smartphones and allow permissions when prompted
  4. On the iPhone, swipe to the "Contacts" section
  5. Mark the contacts that you want to share
  6. When the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, you can lightly bump your smartphones together
  7. If done correctly, a "Connect" button will pop-up on the screen of both smartphones
  8. Tap "Connect" and a copy of your iPhone contacts will be transferred to your Ascend Mate 2 via cloud
